Life's Direction

So, in attempt to find more direction in my life, I've been encouraged (by a friend) to have a personal mission statement.

Does seeing and experiencing more of LA count? Or is that more of a New Year's Resolution (something I didn't even attempt do this year).

Being Christian, "mission statement" carries with it a spiritual connotation. But does a personal mission statement necessarily have to be religious? Maybe I should have two mission statements. I'd perfer that much better to New Year's Resolutions. Much better.

Oh, much better. New Year's Resolutions never work anyway...

welcome back! I enjoy keeping in touch, and for some reason Xanga is easier than e-mail...

I suppose a mission statement doesn't have to be religious. But in reality, is it possible to be apart from our faith?  I like William Wilberforce's mission statement...... In October 1787, William Wilberforce, as a result of his faith, wrote that “God Almighty has sent before me two great objects: the suppression of the slave trade and the reformation of manners”.

I was thinking along the lines of the Parson.  Simply based on experience (I am middle aged) I would never have two mission statements.  The results - at least for me - would be disaster as joy would be missing from my life.
